CBD FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

▾ What is CBD?

CBD, short for Cannabidiol is a naturally occurring compound that is found in the leaves, stalks, and flowers of the hemp plant. It is the most popular non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis sativa plant. While also found in the marijuana plant, all CBD commonly sold is extracted from legal hemp with less than 0.3% THC.

▾ Is CBD Oil Legal?

With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD hemp-derived products are legal to produce, sell, and consume throughout all 50 states. The threshold that separates Hemp from Marijuana is the amount of Delta-9 THC, it must be under 0.3% THC to be considered legal hemp.

▾ How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?

CBD is a very personal thing and varies from person to person. It works by solving a deficiency in the the endocannabinoid system. For some people that deficiency can be resolved within minutes of taking a product, others it may take consistent usage for weeks. Main factors that dictate onset are Age, Height and Weight. CBD will not induce a high or feeling of euphoria.

▾ Will I get "high" from using CBD?

All of our products are either zero THC or contain less than the legal limit of 0.3% THC. The Delta 8 and Delta 9 products can produce a "high" effect, and we strongly warn users not to operate or use machinery while on these cannabinoids.

▾ What is a Cannabinoid?

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds created from the Cannabis sativa plants. Cannabinoids are found in other plants and are created in our body as well. They play a pivotal role in regulating our endocannabinoid system.

▾ What makes hemp plants different from marijuana plants?

Hemp and marijuana appear very similar in sight and smell and they are part of the Cannabis sativa plant family. The difference between the two is the amount of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the federally illegal compound that is responsible for the high and psychotropic effects. The Agricultural Act of 2014 set the difference between the two plants at 0.3% THC. Under that threshold considered hemp, over is considered marijuana.

▾ Will I need a marijuana card or doctor's prescription to use CBD LION products?

CBD LION products contain hemp-based CBD, which is federally legal to be purchased anywhere in the U.S. without a marijuana card or doctor's prescription. Please check your local laws to verify that CBD is legal in your state.

▾ Will using CBD Oil show up on a drug test?

While hemp-based CBD products are manufactured from hemp plants containing less than 0.3% THC, there are still trace amounts. There is a small percentage that consuming CBD may lead to a positive drug test for THC, as it does with any product made from hemp. If this is a significant concern, we advise speaking with your employer or doctor before use.

▾ How much CBD should I take?

Because each person’s body structure is unique, it is difficult to set a predetermined measurement that is right for everyone. It is recommended to consult a doctor or health professional to determine an amount right for you.

▾ How does CBD work?

CBD has the ability to act on cannabinoid receptors that are part of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Plant cannabinoids, also known as phytocannabinoids, bind with this system which helps regulate certain vital functions of the body, including sleep, appetite, immune, pleasure, pain, inflammation, and more. When the ECS is in sync, the human body is able to achieve what is called homeostasis, which means your body is operating optimally.

Unfortunately, under the assault of stress, illness, or injury, your body may not produce enough endocannabinoids to fulfill communication requirements. The system then becomes unbalanced and communication deteriorates. Much like a daily vitamin, CBD, one of the many cannabinoids found in industrial hemp plants, supplements the Endocannabinoid System, which plays a vital role in one's overall health and wellness. Thus, daily supplementation of hemp-derived CBD can support the functionality of the Endocannabinoid System.

▾ What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

It’s a biological system composed of fat based neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors. The CB1 and CB2 receptors were the first receptors discovered and are two of the most studied.

CB1 receptors are located mainly throughout the brain and central nervous system. CB2 receptors are more concentrated throughout the peripheral organs, immune cells, and the gastrointestinal tract.

The endocannabinoids produced in the body are chemical messengers. These messengers tell your body’s receptors to promote healing, or when to stop and help maintain a healthy balance. The body constantly seeks this balance called homeostasis.
